In December 2020 JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ has registered the 10th main locomotive 2TE116. The newly registered 10 main locomotives marked ‘Potash express’ have permits to work on the public railway infrastructure without restrictions.

In December 2020 JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ performed railroad maintenance in the area of stevedoring JSC ‘Klaipedos Smelte’. JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’  replaced the structure of 34.60 m long railroad switch. In April of 2020, JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ submitted an application for rail freight transportation via the main line for the period of the 2020 to 2021 train schedule validity. This is the fourth consecutive application for rail freight transportation.

In 2019, JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ obtained the rolling stock maintenance certificate. Since this acquisition the company has been able to independently perform railway wagon maintenance services. According to the document, developed Freight Wagon Maintenance System, the company’s employees are able to autonomously execute and provide such services directly to the end customer.

In 2017, JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ implemented the rail freight management system ‘Cargo Rail’. Cargo Rail enables the company to manage the freight at the time of its transportation, whilst exchanging information with third party carriers, such as the customs and port cargo management systems.
