The number of train drivers at JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ currently exceeds 50 and continues to grow. The establishment of a driver training centre is a planned 2020 development step. The the training program for locomotive drivers of JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ to obtain a train driver’s certificate is located under the section ‘About Us’.

2020 JSC ‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ performed reconstruction and railway development works in the company’s own infrastructure:

– On 11th December 2020, reconstruction of railway no. 511, no. 512 and no. 513.

– On 18th December 2020, construction of two new railway lines no. 521 and no. 522 of a total length of 641 m.

I reconstruction, Naujoji Akmene rural eldership, Akmene district., Menciu village’ were successfully delivered to the end client. The total value of the construction work amounted to 1,961,550.38 EUR net. The construction partner that entrusted us with this object is AB ‘Eurovia Lietuva’. This has been one of the biggest independently executed railway construction projects to date. The whole project has been completed according to the agreed work schedule, maintaining the high-quality standards and, most importantly, has received positive client reviews.

At present,‘Gargzdu gelezinkelis’ plans  to continue expanding its main line fleet with 2TE116 type locomotives, testament to this intention the company signed a contract to purchase eight vehicles of such type. These locomotives are still in transit .
